Murugaian A. has spent more than 35 years in heavy precision machining and has led Rajamma Engineering as Managing Director for the greater part of that time. His approach hasn't changed since the shop was founded in 1993: a component either holds the tolerance the drawing calls for, or it doesn't — and every fixture, setup and operator hour is planned around getting that right the first time.
Under his direction, Rajamma Engineering has stayed a machining-only shop with no fabrication conflicts, while taking on the jobs many shops turn away — multi-ton machine bases, misaligned structures other shops couldn't correct, and emergency breakdown work where a plant's downtime can't wait for a normal queue. He continues to be personally involved in reviewing drawings and machining approach for every critical job that comes through the shop floor.
